Dear HAPA Families, Scholars and Staff,
We have been hard at work getting ready for the start of the school year! While we will again be learning virtually/from home, our hope is that our community’s health outlook improves to the point where we can be together with our students soon. Right now, we are expecting to be fully virtual/at home from September 1st, 2020 through November 6th, 2020. HAPA will communicate any changes in a timely manner.

Learning happens all around us, every day! While of course our preference is for instruction to be in the classroom, our teachers and staff are excited to kick off a great school year. We will not only persevere, we will THRIVE. By working together, our scholars will continue to be nurtured, pushed and supported as they continue their academic journey at HAPA.

To ensure a strong start to the 2020-2021 school year, we have a few important dates to share:

Monday August 17th and Tuesday August 18th: Chromebook and Technology Pick Up!
We are thrilled that every scholar will receive a Chromebook to be used for educational purposes! Families must pick up their scholar’s Chromebook at their school location for the 2020-2021 school year per the following dates and times:

Tuesday, August 25th and Wednesday August 26th:  Curriculum Pick-Up and Return of Signed Documents

In addition to Chromebooks, our teachers and staff have prepared learning curriculum for each scholar to help guide learning at home. Please pick up your scholar’s curriculum at their school location for the 2020-2021 school year. Additionally, you will need to return any/all signed documents, which will be mailed out this week. If you have any questions regarding the documents, please contact your scholar’s educational leader.

Food Distribution Changes
HAPA has been honored to provide nutritional assistance to our families. Please note that as our staff returns to school, the food distribution times will change. Starting on August 18th, the food distribution will run from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. The following dates are impacted by this change: August 18th, 20th, 25th and 27th. The last day of the food distribution is August 27th, 2020. In the future, if HAPA can continue to serve as a food distribution site, dates will be communicated.

Canceled/Postponed Sports/Athletic Activities
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, HAPA has canceled or postponed all sports/athletic activities and all after school programs until further notice.

As I have said before, the love we have for our scholars and our deep commitment to their learning will never waiver, even as this pandemic continues to disrupt our normal way of life and schooling. Parents, teachers and staff – we are all in this TOGETHER. Our scholars will THRIVE because we care for and support one another.
