Empower Scholars by Supporting the HAPA Foundation

At the Hmong American Peace Academy (HAPA), we believe in the power of education to create transformative change and uplift communities. As the only Hmong public charter school in the state of Wisconsin, we are dedicated to providing opportunities to our scholars, and we wouldn’t be able to do so without your help. Please consider giving to HAPA through annual giving, capital gifts, level gifts, and donations.

HAPA Foundation Mission

The mission of the Foundation is to enrich the experience of HAPA scholars, families, and staff, nurturing a culture of academic excellence, celebrating Hmong heritage, and building skills for lifelong success through community engagement, ambassadorship, and fundraising.

Matching Gifts

Increase the impact of your gift to HAPA with an employer match. Your employer’s matching gift program directs additional funds to organizations that matter to you, which greatly increases the value of your gift to HAPA. Be the one who helps a student achieve their potential.

Eligible supporters for matching gifts may include:

  • Full and part-time employees
  • Retired employees
  • Spouses of employees
  • Board members

To learn if your gift to HAPA can be matched by your employer, please enter your employer’s name in the search box below.

Gift of Stock

Based on the recent growth of the stock market, you may want to consider a gift of appreciated stock you have owned for more than one year.

If you continue to itemize your deductions, you can claim an income tax charitable deduction for the stock’s current value, plus, you would avoid paying capital gains tax.

IRA Distribution

If you have a traditional individual retirement account (IRA) and are at least 70-1/2 years of age, you can give up to $100,000 per year to charities and 501c3 non-profits, including HAPA, without being taxed on the distribution.

A qualifying distribution must go directly from your IRA to HAPA, and you may not receive any goods or services in exchange for your gift. This is a smart way to support HAPA while avoiding taxes on your required minimum distribution.

Donor-Advised Fund

The donor-advised fund (DAF) is becoming an increasingly popular way to make a charitable gift. DAFs can provide immediate tax benefits while making your charitable giving easier.

If giving through a DAF, be sure to let your administrator know HAPA’s tax ID and mailing address.

Tax identification: HAPA is classified as a 501(c)(3) Type II Charitable Supporting Organization: EIN 85-3668798
